Welcome to The Arcane, a top-down strategy game that blends intense tactical decision-making with an immersive card-based combat system. In this prototype, players engage in thrilling battles, utilizing powerful cards that offer abilities such as healing, attack boosts, and recharge. With intuitive controls using AWSD or arrow keys for movement and the left mouse button for executing abilities, The Arcane offers a unique twist on strategy-based gameplay.
The game’s core mechanics revolve around defeating monsters, earning cards to expand the player’s arsenal of abilities, and using strategic thinking to outsmart enemies. The experience is enhanced by a captivating user interface and polished typing effects that bring a sense of dynamism to the action. Project summary :
The Arcane was developed in Unity 3D using C# scripting for a client named Shiva from Scotland. The project was completed over two weeks, with a budget ranging from $500 to $1000 USD. The primary focus was on creating a fully functional prototype with an engaging combat system and interactive mechanics powered by a card system. Players can unlock new abilities after each monster kill, providing a sense of progression and reward.
Although the user interface is still being polished, the game features a solid core of gameplay mechanics. This project allowed for significant growth in areas such as card-based systems, player movement mechanics, and real-time combat design. The development of The Arcane provided a learning opportunity to refine my skills in delivering smooth gameplay, polished UI elements, and a compelling player experience.
